November 2024 Update
Rainbow Lake Conservation Company has approximately $325,000 in the bank in trust to meet the $500,000 matching fund for replacing the irrigation ditches out of Rainbow Lake with pipe to prevent seepage, animal incursions and water theft from the most unstable and wasteful ground in the system. In addition, there is $50,000 pledged and deliverable within the next three weeks, resulting in attainment of three-fourths of our goal. The last $125,000 must be collected or pledged for payment as soon as possible, but no later than the end of December in order to meet the grant requirements.
RLCC is extremely concerned that there will be no opportunities for state and federal grants after this year. Both the state and federal governments are expected to tighten budgeting; unfortunately, water conservation measures such as the proposed grant may simply be unavailable in the future.
Those of you interested in maintaining as full a lake as possible should treat this grant as a last chance to improve the lake in a way that will continue to increase our home values. A letter has been sent to all Shores owners and lakeside residents asking help in closing the gap! Let’s finish a project that was once thought impossible, but is now within reach !!
